Wings of Freedom Tour Brings Vintage Airplanes to Oxford

The Wings of Freedom Tour will be at the Oxford Airport from September 5 to September 7, 2014 and arrive at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5th and depart on Sunday at 5 p.m.  The Tour brings historic aviation to your community.  Tour through the authentically restored aircraft or take a flight aboard for the ultimate immersion in history.  The B-17, B-24 and P-51 are on the 25th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out; $15 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  WWII veterans can tour through the aircraft a no cost.  Call for further information.

Gallery talks at 2 p.m. at Hunt Hill Farm's Silo Gallery by sculptor Anthony Antonios, acrylic painters Joyce Conlon, and Frederick Velardi, and New Milford High School students with Art Department teacher Paula Marian. All currently have works on display for The Silo Gallery's Winter Exhibition through March 28th. The Silo Gallery at Hunt Hill Farm begins 2010 with an evocative and diverse range of themes for its Winter Exhibition. Abstract acrylic paintings by Frederick Velardi and Joyce Conlon will be on display in The Silo�s main gallery. Velardi, a specialist in color-field painting, will show his Jazz Series, while Conlon will exhibit her Fence Series, inspired by nature and the passing of time. In the same gallery, figurative sculptor Anthony Antonios will put on view his series of classically executed plaster portraits.
