Educated at the Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford and the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz and African American Studies, Brandee Younger is a classically trained harpist whose abilities and music transcend genres. Ms. Younger is skilled as an ensemble player as well as an improviser, and has been compared to legendary harpist Dorothy Ashby. As a classical musician, she has performed with jazz luminaries such as Jack DeJohnette, Ravi Coltrane, Wycliffe Gordon, Charlie Haden, Reggie Workman, Kenny Garrett, Rashied Ali, Butch Morris, and Bill Lee, in addition to many new jazz artists in New York City.
