On Thursdays, from June 26th to July 17th at 10:00 am and 3:00 pm the Litchfield Historical Society’s American Girl Book Club will experience 1904 New York through the exciting adventures of Samantha Parkington. As a group, we will read through the stories then play games and do a craft related to the tales. The schedule of stories to be read are: June 26: “Samantha’s Blue Bicycle” tells the story of Samantha learning to ride a bicycle. July 3: “Samantha and the Missing Pearls” tells of how Samantha works to clear a friend’s name after she is accused of stealing priceless jewelry. July 10: “Samantha’s Special Talent” tells of Samantha working to overcome her fears and figure out what she can perform in a talent show to save the library. July 17: “Samantha Saves the Wedding,” tells of Samantha helping her new Aunt Cornelia prepare for her wedding and save the ruined veil.
The American Girl Book Club is open to children ages 6 and up. There are two times for this book club: 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. It is $5 for members and $7 for non-members; registration is required. To register, please call (860) 567-4501 or email email@example.com.
