It is Harley time again at the New England Carousel Museum kicking off the 20th year for our Harley Davidson Street Glide raffle to benefit the Museum. The raffle will help benefit the Museum's educational programming and general operations. The Sharon Historical Society & Museum announces the opening on July 25, 2015 of its upcoming art show at the Gallery @the SHS titled "Putting It All Together". The show consists of quilted, collaged and assembled work in mixed media and will feature an eclectic grouping of pieces by local artists Ingrid Freidenbergs, Stephen Garmey, Ghost of a Dream, Gail Jacobson, Paul Neuman, Kate Stiassni and John Walker. Viewers will have an opportunity to appreciate, enjoy and be inspired by the full meaning of the expression "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Illustrating fascinating overlaps among art forms and drawing connections between past and present, several antique or vintage quilts from the Sharon Historical Society & Museum's permanent collection will be on display at the SHS as companion pieces to the show. The exhibit runs from July 25 through September 10. An opening reception to which the public is invited free of charge will be held on Saturday, July 25 from 5:00 to 7:00PM. All purchases support the Sharon Historical Society & Museum's mission.

Since 1983, the East Coast's premier vintage and historic motorsport event has been Lime Rock's Historic Festival and its companion Sunday in the Park Concours & Gathering of the Marques. Honored Guests and Honored Collectors help create five days of motoring magnificence that begins with the free Vintage Race Car Parade and Falls Village Street Fair on Thursday, Sept. 3, continues with racing on Friday and Saturday, the Concours and Gathering on Sunday (more than 1,200 cars are in the Park!), and ends at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, when the final checkered flag falls on the last of 40 races. As always, more than 250 vintage and historic race cars will fill A Paddock, the Swap Meet in B Paddock will be packed, the Midway is alive with activities – and the racing on the track is non-stop from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Monday. Brookfield Museum and Historical Society - 911 Exhibit on Display

 On September 5 and 2015 from Noon to 4 PM the Brookfield Historical Society will honor the memory of four victims with ties to Brookfield who perished during the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. There will be a memorial display as well personal testimonials and recorded acts of courage by Brookfield first responders. This year marks the 14th anniversary of the tragic event and area residents are encouraged to visit. The memorial display will be on view at the Brookfield Museum located at 165 Whisconer Road, Brookfield Center at the intersection of Route 25 and 133.
