The Wings of Freedom Tour will be at the Oxford Airport from September 5 to September 7, 2014 and arrive at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5th and depart on Sunday at 5 p.m.  The Tour brings historic aviation to your community.  Tour through the authentically restored aircraft or take a flight aboard for the ultimate immersion in history.  The B-17, B-24 and P-51 are on the 25th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out; $15 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  WWII veterans can tour through the aircraft a no cost.  Call for further information.

On Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 4:30PM to 6:30PM at the Aldrich Museum a workshop: Unlock Creative Expression with Poetry and Art.  Unlock creative expression through the use of poetry, experiential creative writing exercises, artworks in The Aldrich’s galleries, and reflective learning. Writer and poet Anne F. O’Reilly will take participants through multiple doorways to the imagination, whether they are exploring writing as a tool for understanding, meaning, and creativity; trying to overcome blocks to creative expression; or educators incorporating writing across a curriculum. Discover new confidence in your self-expression—or how to encourage it in your students! This workshop will show participants how to explore their own creative depths in order to then help others identify and develop their creative capacities through words and writing. A brief intermission, featuring light refreshments, will precede a poetry reading by O’Reilly hosted in collaboration with the Ridgefield Library from 7 to 8 pm. About the workshop leader: Irish lecturer, author, and performance poet Anne F. O’Reilly has over thirty years experience teaching and facilitating workshops in theology, spirituality, creative writing, and sacred poetry. During her education career in Dublin, she was known as a creative and original teacher who integrated material from many different disciplines, including theology, feminism, philosophy, mythology, Celtic spirituality, literature, drama, and poetry. Alongside her academic qualifications and experience, O’Reilly has many years of training in voice, poetry recitation, sacred clowning, drama, and meditation.
