The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra will present "The Devil and the Double Violin" on Friday, November 1, at 8:00 PM at the Washington Congregational Church in Washington. Featuring two world-renowned violinists: Natasha Korsakova and Manrico Padovani in a program the features works from Tartini, Paganini, Sarasate, Saint-Saens and Wieniawski, this will be a devilish treat. Music Director and Conductor, Leif Bjaland commented, "The smell of burning leaves, dressing in costume and make believe, stories of the supernatural - I wanted this program to capture the fun and fantasy of Halloweens past. The music is brilliant and sophisticated, and will be performed fantastically by Natasha, Manrico and the WSO, but the inspiration behind the music are the folk tales and ghost stories we all listened to around the bonfire on crisp Autumn evenings long ago." The concert will also be presented again on Sunday, November 3 at 3:00 pm at the NVCC Fine Arts Center. Tickets are: $20, $30, & $50, and can be purchased online: waterburysymphony.org or by calling: 203-574-428.
