Wings of Freedom Tour Brings Vintage Airplanes to Oxford

The Wings of Freedom Tour will be at the Oxford Airport from September 5 to September 7, 2014 and arrive at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5th and depart on Sunday at 5 p.m.  The Tour brings historic aviation to your community.  Tour through the authentically restored aircraft or take a flight aboard for the ultimate immersion in history.  The B-17, B-24 and P-51 are on the 25th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out; $15 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  WWII veterans can tour through the aircraft a no cost.  Call for further information.

On Friday, December 3, 2010 a reception from 6:30PM to 9:30PM will be held to start the Christmas in Gaylordsville Christmas celebration which includes the magical transformation of the Merwinsville Hotel into Santa's gift workshop.  Mrs. Klaus'  bakery.  It is decorated with a huge collection of holiday surprises including nutcrackers, Santa's Christmas villages, snow globes and trains.  The gift shop will be open with a great selection of holiday winter themed art, crafts, photographs and weavings to help you with your holiday gift list.  The Friday evening holiday party with a requested $10 donation will feature hors d'oeurves, hot 'n cold beverages and lots of merriment.  The Loco Fedora Barbershop quartet will get everyone in the holiday spirit with Christmas carols.  Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10AM to 5PM.  No admission charge on Saturday and Sunday.  Children's Story Hour is 11AM on Saturday and Sunday.
