On Saturday January 12th at 1:00pm Wally and Dee Domroe, the owners of the Doll Room in Bridgewater, will present a lecture on vintage dolls and doll collecting in the Wykeham Room of the Gunn Memorial Library. Wally and Dee Domroe are longtime doll collectors and repair dolls at their business on Route 133. After the lecture refreshments will be served at the Gunn Museum adjacent to the Library. From 1:30pm-2:30pm, at the Museum, Wally and Dee will be giving verbal appraisals of vintage dolls, with a suggested donation of $5 per doll. The Domroes are donating their appraisal fees to the Gunn Memorial Library and Museum.
This is an opportunity for visitors to have a final viewing of the Gunn Museums holiday exhibit, Dolls Paradise, which is ending on January 13th. The treasured doll collections of Miss Mary Browne, Mary Logan Bronson, Dorothy Averill, past curator Ester Peck and other area collectors are showcased throughout the museum this holiday season. Under the creative guidance of guest curator Chris Zaima, this holiday exhibit is a delightful vision with dolls from yesteryear displayed in a beautiful, enchanting setting.
This program is open to the public. The Gunn Memorial Library and Museum is located at 5 Wykeham Road, the intersection of Wykeham Road and Route 47, across from the Green in Washington. Please call the museum at 860-868-7756 for more information about the lecture and appraisal event.
