Wings of Freedom Tour Brings Vintage Airplanes to Oxford

The Wings of Freedom Tour will be at the Oxford Airport from September 5 to September 7, 2014 and arrive at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5th and depart on Sunday at 5 p.m.  The Tour brings historic aviation to your community.  Tour through the authentically restored aircraft or take a flight aboard for the ultimate immersion in history.  The B-17, B-24 and P-51 are on the 25th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out; $15 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  WWII veterans can tour through the aircraft a no cost.  Call for further information.

The public is invited to join us for the Friday night opening reception from 5 - 7:30 PM, on Saturday from 12 - 5PM and on Sunday from 11 - 4PM. The Exhibition is held on the beautiful Battell Stoeckel Estate in the Battell Stoeckel Gallery (the Art Barn) in Norfolk, CT. Follow the signs for location and parking. On Friday, February 28, TheatreWorks New Milford will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Neil Simon's first and longest-running theatrical hit, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, by kicking off its 2014 season with that very show. The curtain goes up at 8:00 p.m. on a three-week run. BAREFOOT IN THE PARK runs February 28 March 1 7,8,9 14,15,16. Salisbury Association HIstorical Society,  Reconstruction and Redemption, 1865- 1877, presented by Tom Key, Saturday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m. The talk will cover the problems of the Johnson and Grant administrations, the critical compromise concerning the Hayes-Tilden presidential election and the various reasons given for the failure of Reconstruction. Redemption was the Confederate States term for their efforts to rejoin the Union on an equitable basis.
