The Wings of Freedom Tour will be at the Oxford Airport from September 5 to September 7, 2014 and arrive at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5th and depart on Sunday at 5 p.m.  The Tour brings historic aviation to your community.  Tour through the authentically restored aircraft or take a flight aboard for the ultimate immersion in history.  The B-17, B-24 and P-51 are on the 25th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out; $15 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  WWII veterans can tour through the aircraft a no cost.  Call for further information.

25th Annual Sharon Classic 5 Mile Road Race and Walk and Family Festival on the Green - Sharon

Race begins on the green and finishes on the green. Held rain or shine on Sat. starting at 10:15 a.m. preceded by a children's fun run at 9:30 a.m. and a children's one-mile race at 9:45 a.m. Race day check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. After the races, awards and prizes will be presented to the top three runners in age group categories and overall finishers. Entry fees are $20 for pre-registered participants and $25 on race day. The children's races are $5. Registered runners/walkers receive professional timing services, free refreshments, parking, massage services and babysitting. Free T-shirts are available to the the first 100 registered runners/walkers. Also the Town Green's festival of activities will include food, beverages and concession stands.: a children's Bounce House: information displays by Sharon Audubon Center and Sharon Hospital; a silent auction with contributions from the area's retail vendors; as well as a plant sale of perennials and annuals. This race supports the Sharon Day Care Center.
