Wings of Freedom Tour Brings Vintage Airplanes to Oxford

The Wings of Freedom Tour will be at the Oxford Airport from September 5 to September 7, 2014 and arrive at 2 p.m. on Sept. 5th and depart on Sunday at 5 p.m.  The Tour brings historic aviation to your community.  Tour through the authentically restored aircraft or take a flight aboard for the ultimate immersion in history.  The B-17, B-24 and P-51 are on the 25th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out; $15 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  WWII veterans can tour through the aircraft a no cost.  Call for further information.

On August 5th, 6th from 9AM to 5PM  and Aug. 7th from 12 Noon to 5PM Keeler Tavern Museum will host its 16th Annual Antiques and Treasures Sale. Admission is free.  An early buying hour will be held on Friday, Aug. 5th from 8AM to 9AM--$10 per person.   In commmemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War Robert Walker, collector of memorabilia of this significant event in the history of the United States will be selling a select group of items from his collection.  Rifles, pistols, powder horns, swords and other military artifacts will be for sale.  Also for sale will be Lincoln signature  papers and other awards and appointment certificates of the period.  Designer vintage clothing and accessories are also offered.  The barn will offer furniture bargains and the tent on the front lawn will offer bargain prices on hundreds of small treasures.  There is free parking  on the premisies or at the Congregational Church acroos Main St.
