"Hellenic Melodies: A Journey from Classical to Contemporary" will be performed at 7 p.m. in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Musical group Diphono with guest artist Emilia Diakopoulou will perform Nikos Kazantzakis' Greek Operattas "Vaftistikos" and "Kapetan Mihalis," with music by Manos Hadkidakis. Pianist and musical director Areti Giovanou will provide accompaniment. The performance, hosted by the WCSU Center for Culture and Values, will be free and the public is invited. It is funded by a grant from the foundation of Brookfield industrialist and philanthropist Constantine "Deno" Macricostas and his wife Marie. For more information, call (203) 837-8734.

On Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 7-8PM at the Oliver Wolcott Library an event:  Love Hath Wings: Sounds of Love in Shakespeare's Time will feature Eric Hansen and Dee Hansen.  The performance will feature love songs that will make you laugh, cry and sigh.  Eric Hansen was a professional bassist and lutenist for more than 12 years.  Dr. Dee Hansen is Director of Graduate Studies at The Hart School.  Space is limited.  Registration is required.
