Newtown HIstorical Society Confessions of an Urban Archeologist.

25 Main St., Newtown, CT

3pm at the CH Booth Library. If you have ever watched "American Pickers" or "The Antiques Roadshow" and been fascinated by what's hiding in attics and basements, then you'll want to see the next live presentation of "Confessions of an Urban Archeologist." Cub historian and treasure hunter Greg Van Antwerp enjoys sharing with groups his unique approach to the garage, tag and estate sales that dot the Connecticut landscape each weekend. "Signs and arrows strategically placed on familiar corners might lead to a few faded lawn chairs and a rusty barbecue grill - or just maybe - remnants of stories of struggle and survival from generations past." Each weekend Greg can be found seeking out a story in a box of old paper or the endless nooks and crannies where keepsakes were lost or stored and forgotten.
