Artisans Group Holiday Market at the Falls Village Center on Main

The David M. Hunt Library will host the Artisans Group Holiday Market on Saturday, December 12th from 10am to 4pm at the Center on Main in Falls Village. Quality hand-crafted gifts will include weaving and other fiber arts, paper crafts, leatherwork, fine woodwork, blown glass, skin products, jewelry, and much more. This event is a collaboration between the library and the Artisans Group, an association of makers and artisan craft professionals residing in Connecticut’s Northwest Corner.  This event is free and open to the public.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hunt Library.  Purchases will be complimented with a gift certificate for a free dessert at the Falls Village Inn. Free.

The Hunt Library in Falls Village will host the  on Saturday, December 12 with a birthday reception from 5pm to 7pm.  Artworks are all in a 12” x 12” format, priced at $100 each, and sold off-the-wall.  Works will be replaced on the wall as they are sold.  Remaining art will be on display through Saturday, January 2.  The reception is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.  A portion of the art sales will benefit the library.  Wheelchair accessible. Free.

The Hunt Library in Falls Village will host the 5th edition of its popular year-end flash art exhibit, 12X12, on Saturday, December 12 with a birthday reception from 5pm to 7pm. Artworks are all in a 12" x 12" format, priced at $100 each, and sold off-the-wall. Works will be replaced on the wall as they are sold. Remaining art will be on display through Saturday, January 2. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. A portion of the art sales will benefit the library. This year's exhibit celebrates the 5th Anniversary of 12X12 and the Hunt Library's Artwall, both founded by Falls Village resident, artist and arist, Sergei Fedorjaczenko. Since the start of the Artwall, Sergei and other volunteers on the committee have scheduled 8 to 10 exhibits each year, exuberantly promoting, hosting, and skillfully installing the work of local artists in solo and group exhibits and organized community art events including Mr. Fedorjaczenko's Dot Car project of 2012.

Saturday, December 12, 2015--Harpist Wendy Kerner performs in The Marian Anderson Studio at 2:00 p.m. Please join us in The Marian Anderson Studio for this FREE musical performance by harpist Wendy Kerner. The artistry of harpist Wendy Kerner has been described by The New York Times as "first rate" and other critics have hailed her playing as "effortless", "seductive" and "a delight to listen to". She is the principal harpist with The Bridgeport, Norwalk and Ridgefield Symphonies, and she is also a member of the Fontenay Chamber Players, the Hearken flute and harp ensemble, and the group Themselves, which performs curriculum based educational programs throughout the northeast. Wendy was a scholarship student at The Juilliard School.
