The WCSU departments of Theatre Arts and Music will present "Spring Awakening" in the Berkshire Theatre in Berkshire Hall on the university's Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 27 and 28; 8 p.m. on Friday, March 1; 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 2; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3. Flanders Film Series: The Future of Food--Adults. The Future of Food has won awards at numerous film festivals and was chosen by the Oscar screening committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of the best documentaries of 2004. The film has been shown globally at conferences such as The Soil Association Convention in London, the Japanese Organic Farmer's Convention, Dr. Andrew Weil's Nutrition and Health State of the Science Conference and Slow Food's "Terra Madre 2006." The film provides a thorough overview of controversial questions about Genetically Modified foods such as "What are the long-term effects on humans of consuming genetically engineered food, which is still largely unlabeled in the US?" and "Can the crossbreeding of wild and genetically modified plants be controlled?" Cynthia Rabinowitz of the Sustainability Center in Bethlehem, CT will help lead a discussion and answer questions after the film. Date/Time: Thursday, February 28/ 7 pm. Location: The Studio

WCSU will present the Midtown Coffeehouse Feb 28 at 8 p.m. in Alumni Hall on the university's Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The coffeehouse will include open mic performers at 8 p.m., followed by the featured act, Mad Satta, at 9 p.m. Admission will be free and the public is invited.
