Ridgefield Independent Film Festival--Friday, May 20 - Sunday, May 22, 2016.. Showing more than 70 movies from 23 countries and hosting master classes at 7 curated venues including Keeler Tavern Museum, the Ridgefield Library, Ridgefield Playhouse, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and the Prospector Theater, RIFF is a site-specific film festival, created by Joanne Hudson, Festival Founder and Director that aims to make the world a more compassionate place through the sharing of stories from around the world through cinema.  The best way to "RIFF" is to purchase a pass: ALL FESTIVAL ($50) gives access to all films, master classes, and special programming; and ALL ACCESS ($75) gives access to three parties and the filmmakers' lounge, in addition to the afore-mentioned films, classes, and programming. Cornwall Library Holds Memorial Day Book Sale

The Cornwall Library will hold its Memorial Day book sale starting Saturday, May 21, 2016 with an early bird session for $10 at 9 AM.  All shoppers are welcome from 10AM to 2PM for no fee.  On May 29th there will be a half-price sale from 11AM to 2PM.  The sale continues on May 30th from 10AM to 2PM with a break at 11AM for the parade.  On May 30th shoppers can fill a bag for $5.

Brokfield Museum and Historical Society Exhibit Honors Brookfield's Fallen Military

Exhibit Honors Brookfield's Fallen Military--Heroes at Brookfield Museum--Date and Time of Event: Opens Saturday May 21, 2016 and following Saturday and Sunday May 28 and 29 from noon to 4PM. Location: Brookfield Museum located at 165 Whisconer Road, Brookfield Center ( intersection of Route 25 and 133) . Gene Roberts, a Vietnam Veteran and member of the Brookfield Historical Society, holds a photograph taken of a painting of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Merwin, a former Brookfield resident, killed July 2nd 1863 on the battlefield at Gettysburg. This is part of a Memorial Exhibit honoring the memory of 44 former Brookfield town residents who gave their lives during many of our nation's military campaigns from the American Revolution up to and including Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. The exhibit will open at the Brookfield Museum located at 165 Whisconier Road (intersection of Routes 25 and 133) in Brookfield Center, Saturdays, May 21, and 28, 2016 from noon till 4pm. It will also be open during the town's Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
