The Village Cemetery Tour--Tour given by Dan Cruson, Town Historian--When: Sunday, June 14, 2015 Time: 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Where: Entrance to the Village Cemetery on Elm Street, across from Hawley Lane. In conjunction with the June open house and marble making demonstration, Dan will be leading a tour of the oldest section of Newtown's primary cemetery. Participants should meet at the Elm Street entrance and will take a ten minute walk as he explains the 19th century burial area.

37th Annual Woodbury Lions Club Car Show

The  375th Annual Woodbury Lions Club Car Show will be held June 14th at Hollow Park in Woodbury, CT. On Sunday, starting at 10 am  to 3PM and motorcycles will be on display. Judging starts at noon and awards will be given out at 3PM. Gates open at 10AM for the public. Admission price is $10 per car, $5 per person, children $1, with those younger than 12 admitted for free.  Refreshments can be purchased, entertainment--'50s music with a DJ-free. We also plan to make this a more family-friendly event - with an expanded vendor row and activities for children.

1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Inspired by the exhibition, The Coast & the Sea: Marine and Maritime Art in America, participants of all ages are invited to the museum to participate in a hands-on workshop led by nautical knot-maker Matthew Beaudoin from Mystic Knotwork in Stonington, Connecticut. Visitors will have the chance to make survivor bracelets. The Beaudoin family has been the source for nautical knots throughout New England for over 50 years.

Come join Darlene Kascak, of the Schaghticoke Indian Tribe, and make a con- temporary sandal moccasin that is both beautiful and functional as well. Learn how to make a pattern for this modern style sandal using the same techniques that were used by moccasin makers for hundreds of years.
