Hours for A Taste of the Litchfield Hills will be 12 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012. Ticket prices are Adult (age 12-64): $10 On-Site or $8 Advance Purchase; Senior (age 65+): $8 On-Site or $6 Advance Purchase; and Child (Under 12): Free. Admission does not include food and beverage, which are purchased separately. From comfort food to gourmet dishes and live entertainment to an outdoor shopping bazaar, the 27th annual edition of A Taste of The Litchfield Hills will offer a menu of fine fare and fun at a new location. 7th Annual Oxford Peach Festival

The Oxford Historical Society will present its annual Peach Festival on Saturday, August 25 in St. Peter’s Church at 421 Oxford Road.  This year’s theme is the history of the Town of Stevenson, the old Zoar Bridge and the Stevenson Dam.The event will begin with an illustrated talk by John Babina on the construction of the Dam at 2:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.  From 4-7 p.m., vintage photos and newspaper articles detailing the dam’s building will be on display in St. Peter’s Church Hall. This is the first time many of the photographs have been seen by the public.  Also featured will be pictures and memorabilia from the Hale-Coleman Orchards of Seymour and Oxford. Homemade peach shortcake with “all the trimmings” will be on sale from 4-7 p.m. Admission to the event is $1.00.  Proceeds will go to the continued restoration and operation of the Twitchell Rowland Homestead Museum at 60 Towner Lane in Oxford.
