" Marvelous Mushrooms" Program Being Held at Flanders.The 3 Foragers are a family from southeastern Connecticut who has been foraging wild foods and fungi, and blogging about their adventures, for over seven years. On Saturday, August 22nd they will be returning to Flanders for a talk and walk around the historic Van Vleck Sanctuary in search of marvelous mushrooms!
They will lead the way on a hunt of the Flanders trails and fields to identify and determine the edibility of some of the wild mushrooms found there. Participants will learn where to forage, which mushrooms are safe to eat, and hear some suggestions on how to add wild food to their diet. Children are welcome. The program starts at 1PM that day at the Flanders Sugar House which is located a quarter mile from the intersection of Flanders and Church Hill Roads in Woodbury. Cost for Flanders members is $10 members and $15 for nonmembers. Register online.
