Activities going on around town include ice carving, horse and carriage rides, the chance to meet 'the man in red' and ornament making. The Historical Society will hold its Holiday Ornament Wokshop and provide participants with an opportunity to create historic ornaments and a chance to try fun contemporary varieties. Do you love plunging into the past through old maps? How about scavenger hunts? Join the Litchfield Historical Society as we explore Litchfield and its history through aged maps and new technology! The journey begins on Thursday, November 29 at 3:30 pm at the Litchfield History Museum. In conjunction with Connecticut Explored's traveling exhibition, There's a Map for That!, now on display at the History Museum through December 2, participants will investigate the maps on display and learn how and what surveyors used to map out uncharted terrain. We will also use a hand-held GPS device to locate hidden items! This program is open to children ages 8 and up. The fee is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.
