On Saturday December 13, 2014 the Oxford High School Booster Club will hold its 7th Festival of Trees with a tree raffle following a 1:30PM performance of the Nutcracker Suite by the New England Ballet Company.  Proceeds from each tree go to a designated organization.  Check the website for further information.

Talk: Beyond Minimalism and Feminism in Sculpture Today--Saturday, December 13 · 3 pm to 4:30 pm-Member · FREE. Non-member (with paid admission to museum) · FREE. Hear from exhibiting artists Jackie Winsor and Kate Gilmore and Aldrich alumni artist Michelle Lopez about how Minimalism and feminism—two seemingly disparate movements—converge in, diverge from, and inform their work. The artists will engage this topic and each other, moderated by critic, curator, and Dean of the Yale School of Art Robert Storr. Before the talk, enjoy a visit to Gilmore's exhibition, A Roll in the Way, and Winsor's, With and Within. Gilmore's practice spans video, performance, sculpture, and photography. She is almost always the sole protagonist in her videos, which are recorded privately, never rehearsed and only attempted once. At The Aldrich, Gilmore debuts a new site-specific video and sculpture that is a record of a private performance produced within the Museum's walls.
