PALACE THEATER 'SKATES' THROUGH WINTER WITH NEW FAMILY FUN EVENT--Waterbury Theater Offers Skating on the Stage and Other Holiday Activities. Waterbury, Conn. – Snow and ice take center stage at the Waterbury Palace Theater on Saturday, Dec. 12, as the performing arts center presents its first ever "Winter Wonderland Family Fun Day," a merry and bright afternoon of affordable holiday activities for all to enjoy. Tickets to the event are $12 and can be purchased online at www.palacetheaterct.org, by phone at 203-346-2000, or in person at the Box Office, 100 East Main St. in Waterbury. From 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. family members that purchase tickets to this holiday themed afternoon will be transported to an indoor winter wonderland decorated with white lights, pine trees, snowfall and the magical opportunity to skate on the Palace Theater stage. With admission, attendees will receive complimentary skate rentals and take turns gliding across a 20ft by 40ft indoor rink while listening to their favorite holiday songs. The Palace is also partnering with a variety of local businesses and non-profits to create activity stations throughout the theater that will entertain and educate guests waiting to skate on the stage. These activities include cupcake decorating provided by Hard Core Sweet Cupcakes; holiday craft stations; photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus by Powerstation Events; hot chocolate and sweet treats; access to our Macy's Mailbox, where children can write a letter to Santa to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation; a local toy drive and more. From 11 a.m. to 12:30pm, the Palace will also host its monthly guided theater tour that takes patrons on an educational excursion throughout the venue. Admission for the tour is a separate $5.00 fee and can be purchased in advance through the box office.

Bristol Historical Society Hosts Ugly Christmas Sweater Attire Party

The Bristol Historical Society is holding a wine and cheese party for the ugliest Christmas Sweater or Christmas attire that you may own. We are also looking for donations of ugly Christmas sweaters so that we can have an unraveling contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best ugly attire. There will also be a Christmas sing-along and trivia questions. This event will be held at the Bristol Historical Society, 98 Summer Street, Bristol, on December 13, 2015 from 5-7 pm. We are asking that participants please pre-register with the Society 860-583-6309 (limited to 70 persons).
