Fifth of July by Lanford Wilson Directed by Maureen Trotto. Lanford Wilson's FIFTH OF JULY opens Town Players' 80th anniversary season on Friday, April 24 at 8 PM at The Little Theatre.| Ken Talley, a Vietnam vet who lost his legs in combat, lives in his family's farmhouse in rural Missouri with his partner, Jed. The traumatized and bitter Ken finds it difficult to find meaning in his life. As he considers selling the house and property, old friends and family members descend for a visit. Ken's Aunt Sally and his sister June (and her daughter Shirley) have come to bury the ashes of Sally's husband. Friends John and Gwen Landis, along with Weston Hurley, have arrived with the intention of buying the Talley farmhouse so that Gwen, a copper heiress, can turn it into a recording studio and realize her dream of becoming a country music star. The visit ends with a bidding war over the property between Sally and John. FIFTH OF JULY is directed by Maureen Trotto and runs April 24 -May 16. Curtain times are 8 PM Fridays and Saturdays, with 2 PM Sunday matinees on April 26 & May 3. Check the website for ticket information.
