Bethlehem's Bellamy-Ferriday House and Garden welcomes families to a Fairie Festival on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from noon to 4PM.  Afternoon includes tea with a fairy godmother, vendors, crafts--making ribbon rings and fairy garland crowns, or painting garden stones--a fairy and wizard parade and prizes.  There is a build-your-own fairy house" competition with prizes for both adults and children.  Call for details.  Admission is $25 for families, $10 for adults, $8 children ages 6 to 12 with $2 off for anyone dressed as a fairy or other magical creature.

Spooner House in Shelton invites willing walkers and runners to the Derby Greenway on May 21, 2016 starting at 9AM --rain or shine--to take part in the 19th Annual Walk for the Hungry and Homeless.  Donation of $20 for each participant to receive the commemorative walk T-shirt.  All proceeds benefit Spooner House.  The entire walk rout is 3.4 miles along the Naugatuck River.

The David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village, Connecticut will kick off its 125 Anniversary season with WORDS + MUSIC, a Song Book World Concert produced by Joshua Stone. Featuring singer Wanda Houston with professional musicians, music instructors, and their remarkable students. The concert will take place on Saturday, May 21, 6:30pm at Music Mountain's Gordon Hall. This event is free and open to the public. WORDS + MUSIC: A Song Book World Concert presents material drawn from international music traditions reflecting the immense universe of pop music from the past 125 years including music by Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder, Feist, Mancini and Mercer, Afropop legend, Angelique Kidjo and maybe a surprise or two.the Lee H Kellogg School Percussion Ensemble. In addition, a collection of Falls Village residents calling themselves "The Village Poets" will perform personally selected poetry and prose readings with musical accompaniment.
