Harriet Scott Chessman will read from and sign copies of "The Beauty of Ordinary Things" at Washington Depot's Hickory Stick Bookshop on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2PM.  Her novel links the stories of a traumatized soldier; a nun questioning the wisdom of taking vows, and a college student confronting with the charting the course of her own life.  She has taught literature and writing at Yale University and the Bread Loaf School of English.
