Come join a supportive circle of drummers! This retreat is open to everyone who wishes to feel the joy of the beat of the drum. Participants will learn to chant and drum simple rhythms that can be used for meditation. They will also have time for personal reflection and journaling. Participants should bring: a hand drum, if they have one. Some extra drums will be available. Also bring a journal and writing/drawing implements, and some small object that holds significance for you.

Highlights include a plant sale by Broken Arrow Nursery in Kent, working and ornamental kitchen gardens and greenhouses, a large collection of rare and specimen trees, arches intertwined with roses and clematis, and gardens highlighted in various books and magazines. Litchfield Farmers Market will have its opening day outdoors for the summer season on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 10AM to 1PM at the Center School parking lot.  The market will feature more than 18 vendors offering seasonal field-fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, plant starts, local eggs, beef and pork, artisanal breaks, pies and much more.  Local restaurants will offer food to go and seasonal artists and guests will have gift items.  Music and a free gardening and cookbook exchange will be held.

Saturday June 20.  10 am - 1 pm.  The CT Grown Litchfield HIlls Farm-Fresh market is moving outdoors to the Center School parking lot for the summer season.  Over 18 vendors participate offering seasonal field-fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs; herb and vegetable plant starts; local eggs; pasture fed beef and pork; artisanal breads; pies, cider doughnuts and baked goods; jams, jellies, chutney, pickles, sauces and hot sauce made from local ingredients; award winning goat and cow cheese; honey; maple syrup; balsamic vinegar, olive and grape seed oils; and goat milk soaps; local restaurants offer foods to go.  Seasonal artists and guests have great offerings for yourself or special presents.
