Check out the Dream Machine, a customized Airstream and living environment combining art, design, and life that will debut as a pop-up shop on the Museum grounds from November 14 to 23. Redesigned and outfitted by WeR2, it is a fully functioning home containing objects made or designed by artists, including products by local design company Teroforma. At 3 pm, discover the connections between fine art and design, and how both converge in our everyday lives and environments, through a discussion that includes conceptual artist Mary Ellen Carroll; designer and artist Sebastian Errazuriz; Eva Franch I Gilabert, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Storefront for Art and Architecture; Wendy Goodman, Design Editor of New York magazine; and Evan Synderman, owner and co-founder of R & Company gallery in New York City. Families, don't miss the child-friendly, hands-on workshops led by internationally recognized artist Jason Middlebrook. Explore his nature-inspired products in the Airstream shop, then collaborate with Middlebrook, drawing inspiration from his palette of organic materials, to construct large-scale, two-dimensional graphic works.
