The Barn Sale is open on Sat. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale continues Sunday 9 a.m. to 4PM.  The sale is located on Rte. 37 in Sherman center under the white tent offering antiques, collectibles, furniture, outdoor equipment, gardening materials, tools and other household items. Many items came from two estates in Sherman. Refreshments are available. Proceeds from the sale help maintain the Northrop House Museum. Also, the Sherman Library will hold its Book Sale and the JCC sale located just south of Sherman Center--donated antiques, furniture, collectibles, toys, and household items will be featured.  Visit the website for further information.

Join the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Wildlife Division and the Friends of Sessions Woods at the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area on Saturday, May 24, 2014, for a day of outdoor programs and activities for the whole family.  Programs start at 8AM and run through 3PM.  At 8AM take a bird walk with photographer Paul Fusco.  At 10AM there will be a Survival Skills Workshop conducted by Hillary Clifton.  From 11AM to 1PM the DEEP's Conservation Education/Firearms Safety Program will be giving archery instruction followed by shooting practice.  Many more activities throughout the day are planned.  Call for further information. 

Thomaston Opera House Hosts Thomaston Jazz Orchestra

Memorial Day - Redding

Parade starting from the Redding Elementary School and ending at 1 PM at the Memorial Green on Cross Highway. The parade will feature fire engines, a fife and drum corps, and local children's groups. A ceremony honoring our nation's fallen will take place at the end of the parade.
