4 pm. A Landscape Transformed: The Ames Iron Works presented by Lou Bucceri Hosted by the Salisbury Association Historical Society and the Scoville Memorial Library During most of the 19th century, the area around the Great Falls of the Housatonic was highly industrialized. Today, it is woodlands and recreational areas. Historian Lou Bucceri will tell the story of the Ames site and unveil a newly restored rare lithograph that advertised the work done at Ames.

Sharon Audubon Wild Waterfowl

8 am - 12 noon. Fall is one of the best times of year to witness waterfowl migration. Many species come through Litchfield County, including Audubon Sharon's Sharon Audubon Center and Miles Wildlife Sanctuary. During this trip, we will have an opportunity to view some of these marvelous fliers at both Audubon sites and then move to Mudge Pond in Sharon. Transportation is not guaranteed, but carpooling is likely. Bring a pair of binoculars if you have them. Cost to be determined.
