May  24th  - 10 am - 5 pm and May 25th- 12 noon to 5 pm. Explore the tanks and armored vehicles that were active in our nation's conflicts and experience what it's like to pilot history. Tips for Open Turret Days: (CANCELLED IF RAINING) Rubber-soled shoes are required to protect our vehicles from too much wear and tear. Be sure to wear clothing that won't get caught on hatches and parts. Watch your head!

Memorial Day Parade - Brookfield

At Brookfield Hill High School at 2 p.m. Dog owner are welcome to march in the parade.  Residents who want to walk in the parade should contact the Town Clerk by May 22. (203) 775-7313. After the parade from noon to 3 p.m. visit the Brookfield Historical Museum's Annual Strawberry Festival.

Memorial Day Parade - Sherman

The Sherman Memorial Day Parade begins at 1 PM. Starting at Spring Lake Road (Judd's Corner) the parade moves down Route 39 to end at Veteran's Field. A ceremony will be held at the Gazebo at Veteran's Field afterward.

Annual Strawberry Festival and Brookfield War Memorial Exhibit

Sunday from noon through 3:00 Location: Historical Society's Museum grounds, 165 Whisconier Road  (at the junction of CT Routes 25 and 133). Liz Roberts left, Kathy Rajcula and her mom Elaine Rajcula prepare strawberry shortcake during our Strawberry Festival.It will be held outside the Brookfield Museum located at the intersection of Routes 25 and 133 in Brookfield Center, following the Town’s Memorial Day parade. The parade ends near the museum parking lot where strawberry shortcake and soft drinks will be sold to support future public programs of the Society. The Billy Michaels’ Jazz for Juniors band, provided by Hegarty Realty, will be on hand in the park behind the Historical Society building to entertain and a display of antique and vintage automobiles will also featured in the parking lot. At the same time, within the Society’s Museum, the third annual Brookfield War Memorial exhibit will be open to the public. It is a moving display, which honors 43 former Brookfield residents who gave their lives while in the military, in service to the United States.


Lime Rock Park IMSA Continental Tire Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup, Sunday Royals Car Show

The "Conti Tire" Challenge – some of the best stock car road racing in the world – is two big classes, Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST). Each has their own stand-alone race. In GS, you'll see the big, loud and fast Camaros, Porsches, Mustangs, Aston Martins, BMWs and 370Zs banging fenders. The ST race has the quick and agile Hondas, VWs, BMW 128/328, Mazda 3/MX-5 and Porsche Boxsters. The U.S. version of the extremely popular Euro Porsche GT3 Cup series makes just its second-ever visit to Lime Rock, while the uniquely exciting VSCCA race adds a little history to the weekend. Capping the weekend is the Sunday Royals Car Show, which draws 200-400 prime vehicles of every kind – from rare sports cars and contemporary supercars to hundreds of muscle cars from the 60s and 70s – and benefits local charities

Memorial Day Parade - Southbury

Start at 11 a.m. from Pomperaug Office Park on Min Street marching west to the Parks and Rec building for a ceremony. After the parade is a family celebration at Ballantine Park including bands, food, face painting, and entertainment, and games.
