On Saturday, June 20: The Litchfield Female Academy will be the focus of the tour by the Litchfield Historical Society.Come for a tour around the sites pertinent to Litchfield's influential school for young women, founded in 1792 by Miss Sarah Pierce. We'll see where the future leaders who attended this school lived, worked, and played, and discuss their interactions with the students from the Litchfield Law School, the town's other illustrious center of learning in the 18th and 19th century. This program is free for members and $10 for non-members; registration is required.

On Saturday, June 20, 2015 White Flower Farm will host Open House and Garden Tours. This is the day when we provide free tours of the farm, iced tea, cucumber sandwiches, and gardening gossip to visitors on the lawn in front of our house. Garden tours begin at 1 p.m. and tea at 2:30 p.m. or as soon as the family can pull things together. Free event. Garden Tours start on the lawn next to the White Garden. Please look for "Garden Tours Meet Here" signs.

Norfolk Chamber Music Festival/Yale Summer School Hosts Open House with the Allant Trio

The Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, presented by the Yale School of Music, is pleased to announce the completion of Phase I of renovation to the famed Music Shed, the performance home of the Festival since 1906. To celebrate, the Festival will host an Open House on the Festival Grounds on Sunday afternoon, June 21. The events begin at 1:30pm with a children's concert, tours of Whitehouse (the mansion on the Festival grounds), followed by an ice-cream social, children's games, and a free public concert by 2014 Norfolk Alumni standouts, the Allant Trio. Of the Allant Trio, the New York Concert Review said, "I would defy even the most exhausted and jaded listener to experience even a moment of boredom in the group's high-voltage evening." All events for this Open House are free and open to the public.
