Torrington Historical Society Hosts a Screening of A Christmas Village Story

The Torrington Historical Society and Torrington's Arts and Culture Commission have arranged a special screening of A Christmas Village Story at Carmike Cinemas – Cinerom 6 on December 22, 2015. A Christmas Village Story is a documentary film about Torrington's Christmas Village. The film was produced by John Long of Zeeland Productions and the Torrington Historical Society with camera work and editing by Phil Candito of Clocktower Productions. The film was first released in December 2014. The film uses oral histories, historic photographs and vintage film clips to document the history of Christmas Village and the enduring traditions that have made it such a treasured experience for visitors of all ages. The history of Christmas Village is told almost entirely through stories provided by people who worked at or visited Christmas Village.

Experiment with Ruth Root's multi-layered process by creating and then deconstructing an artwork.
