Barkhamsted Historical Society’s “Walk Through Time”

On July 22nd meet at Squire's Tavern,100 East River Rd. at 10 am, and join Paul Hart for a short hike where he will explain how the scenery has changed over time. There will be about a dozen stops along the trail where Paul will describe the way the area would have looked in the 1800's. Stops include: Squire's Tavern, the Nature museum, the remains of a charcoal hearth, the site of the tree nursery and many more. Wear comfortable shoes for the walk and dress appropriately. This is a once a year event so be sure not to miss it! The hike is about 1 mile long and should last about an hour and a half. Some of the terrain is on uneven ground. Questions: call Noreen

CAMA will be holding its 4th Annual Antique Internal Combustion Engine Meet on our grounds in Kent. Members and non-member exhibitors alike are invited to bring their gas engines, either very small or very large and everything in between, and display them for all to see. This meet costs nothing to enter and nothing to look. Some of CAMA's best engines will also be on display. Exhibitors are invited to run their engines provided that they stay with the engine while running. We don't want anyone to get hurt with an unattended engine. Exhibitors should guard against exposed, or unprotected moving parts. We want everyone to go home with the same number of fingers that they arrived with. Food available.
