New Exhibit - A Chance for Land and Fresh Air: Russian Jewish Immigrants in Ellsworth and Amenia, 1907-1940. The exhibit opens with a reception on Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 4-6 pm. This exhibit tells the story of some 30 Jewish families who beginning in 1907 became dairy farmers in the Ellsworth Hills above Sharon.

The Annual Historic Cemetery Walk will be held on October 22, 2016 from 1 to 4PM at the Forest View Cemetery.  Costumed interpreters representing residents of the past will await visitors at their gravestones in the cemetery to share information about their lives and the history of Winsted and Winchester.  Visitors will meet soldiers from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and World War II.  Last tour will leave at 3:30PM.  Tickets available at the tour. On Saturday, October 22nd with a rain date of October 29th , the historic Glebe House Museum invites children and adults to its annual All Hollow's Eve celebration between the witching hours of 5:30 and 9:00 PM. Ghosts, goblins, and assorted scary creatures will be on hand along Hollow Road, following a path lit by over 300 luminaries, some of Woodbury's earliest citizens will come back from the dead to lead mystery tours of the nearby Ancient Burying Grounds.  Parking for the evening will be in Hollow Park, whose entrance is next to the Glebe House. Only a limited number of tickets are available. Tickets purchased in advance are $10 per person or $5 for children 5-12.
