THE BIG READ 2014--The Last Flapper--Written by William Luce--Based on Zelda Fitzgerald's Writings. The Ridgefield Theater Barn will participate in the Big Read Program with its reading of The Last Flapper.  As with all readings at the Barn, admission is free and light refreshments will be provided. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment. The Ridgefield Playhouse, in partnership with the Ridgefield Library, is one of 77 not-for-profit organizations to receive a grant to host a Big Read project between September 2014 and June 2015.  The NEA presents The Big Read in partnership with Arts Midwest. A Rochester, NY native, Mike is interested in wildlife ecology and the dynamics between humans and bears.  He comes to Connecticut by way of Saskatchewan where he worked for a year on a mountain lion research project.  Mike completed his M.S. degree at the University of Buffalo.  His goal is to apply research in areas of conservation and management to promote an understanding of human and wildlife needs, effects, and coexistence.   All ages welcome.
