January 2. 2016--A Winter Walk Along the Lake Trail and Butternut Brook Trail with Marlow Shami Tag along with Marlow as she leads you to the observation platform overlooking Bantam Lake and the Ice House Ruins. Pass by pretty Butternut Brook and indulge yourself in the sights, scents, and sounds of winter. 1:00 P.M., Meet in front of the A.B. Ceder Room. Derby Historical Society Twelfth Night Celebration

1 to 4 pm. This event features tours of our 17th century house by costumed docents. You'll take a trip back to an earlier time in American history. Try  mulled cider and punch alongside our buffet. Partake in samples of some items which would have been served in this house during the American Revolution. There will also be modern-day baked goods to enjoy. Admission prices for 12th Night: $5.00 per adult/ $3.00 per senior citizen and child under 8 years old.

Three Red Trees School of Natural Living's Andrew Dobos and Deneen Bernier take you on a wildlife tracking walk through the winter woods. There are always clues left behind by the animals for us to decipher, telling a story of their habits and lives. Get to know our beloved wildlife that much better. Children should be accompanied by an adult and all should dress extra warm and wear good boots! You never know where the animals have been! 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.. Meet in front of the Museum. On Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10AM the Ansonia Nature Center program:  Nature's Child: Winterizing for Wildlife will be held.  Help to make life easier for our native wild animals this winter by making feeders for the wildlife in your backyards and in our nature preserve.  Tuition $6 per child ($4 for family-level FANCI members and Ansonia residents).  Adults come for free.  Pre-register for this class for preschoolers and their adults.

Jan. 9 - 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm and Jan. 10- 1:30 - 3:30 pm. The Festival is "An Ancient Processional Celebrating Epiphany." It takes
place in true medieval fashion complete with period costumes, live animals, and grandeur worthy of welcoming the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! The Festival features continuous music with full choir, madrigal singers, organist, and brass ensemble. There are also a number of tooters, whistlers, fiddlers, pipers, dancers and drummers. The featured musical selections include Rutter's "Gloria," Adam Dressler's "O Holy Night," and Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium" along with many traditional carols.
