The Dodo bird or Raphus Cucullatus was a flightless bird native to the island of Mauritius, near the island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Its closest relatives are pigeons and doves, even though dodo birds were much larger in size. Due to aggressive human population, Dodo birds became extinct in late 17th century. Learn more about this curious creature and its tragic demise during a brief program which focuses on the Dodo in nature and art. From Billions to None recreates the breathtaking natural phenomenon of massive flocks of passenger pigeons with cutting edge CGI animation. A lovely soup luncheon will be served during the event. Warner Met Opera Saariaho's L'Amour De Loin

The production is by Robert Lepage, co-produced with L'Opéra de Québec, where it premiered to acclaim last summer, in collaboration with Ex Machina. Debuting Finnish conductor Susanna Mälkki leads the performance, which stars Susanna Phillips as Clémence, Eric Owens as Jaufré, and Tamara Mumford as the Pilgrim who carries messages of love between them.

After witnessing the accidental murder of his mother's lover by his father, Tommy is traumatized into catatonia, and as the boy grows, he suffers abuse at the hands of his sadistic relatives and neighbors. As an adolescent, he's discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball, and when his mother finally breaks though his catatonia, he becomes an international pinball superstar.
