Torrington Northwest Idol Auitions

Hunt Preserve Grand Opening

10 am - 12 noon. Rain Date June 4. Take part in Connecticut Trail Days and join Weantinoge Heritage Land Trust at the grand opening of the Hunt Preserve. Brothers Mark and Brian Hunt donated 107 acres on Route 7 and Squash Hollow Road in New Milford, creating the Eleanor and Howard Hunt Preserve in memory of their parents. Weantinoge is especially excited about this project because it will expand the existing Tory's Cave Preserve and provide new opportunities for public recreation. The celebration will highlight the work of the New Milford Youth Agency and include history of the land from the Hunt family. Southbury Town Wide Tag Sale

Please join us on Saturday, June 3rd from 9 am to 3 pm for a fun-filled day of shopping at 775 Main Street South, Southbury on the grassy area around the Gazebo in front of the Southbury Green (ShopRite). A sprinkle won't stop us, but in case of inclement weather on Saturday, the rain date for the tag sale is Sunday, June 4th. This event is a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday – it is like visiting 140+ tag sales all in one place! In addition to great bargains on personal items, several hand-crafters and home-party vendors will be represented as well. The Ladies Auxiliary will be offering coffee, tea and light breakfast items in the morning. Hotdogs will be available at lunchtime. Water, soft drinks and a bake table will be available all day. Proceeds from these items and the Tag Sale will support the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary's community projects.
