On Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 7:30PM Matthew Morrison will be in concert at Ives Concert Park, Westside Campus, WCSU.  Gleeks everywhere are busy making summer plans as "Glee" star and Mercury Records artist Matthew Morrison announced today a major summer tour that will feature songs from his forthcoming album along with many of the Glee fan favorites.  In tribute to the great glee clubs across the country, the tour, in conjunction with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, will offer regional glee clubs the chance to compete for the 'opening act' performance slot. The VH1 Save The Music Foundation, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education programs in our nation's schools, is a proud partner in the competition and entries can be submitted at Ticket prices:  $65 Reserved, $52 Reserved, $42 Reserved, $32 Lawn.

Litchfield Historical Society to Host Ceremonies, Games, and Pet Parade on July 4

The Litchfield Historical Society will hold its annual Pet Parade and Turn of the Century Fest on July 4th.  All community members with or without pets are invited to participate or to observe. Pets of any kind are welcome, but all pets must be either on a leash or in a cage and, where applicable, must come with a rabies certificate.  To register for the parade, call the Society at 567-4501 by Thursday, June 30. The Turn of the Century Fest will also include an ice cream social and old-fashioned games.  Fest participants will have the opportunity to compete in egg and spoon races, a tug of war, a sunflower seed spitting contest, and three-legged races. The event is free of charge and open to the public.  Also, admission is free of charge on July 4 to both the Litchfield History Museum and the Tapping Reeve House & Law School.
