The Architecture of Importance: Naugatuck and the NeoClassical Style 1880-1920

Donald Cromely, Architect, will give background and context for the creation of Naugatuck's unique ensemble of public buildings in the NeoClassical style at the turn of the century also explaining planning and design choices motivated by a vision of America's burgeoning industrial power. Donald Cromley, Architect, a graduate of MIT, teaches architecture and design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He also lectures on the history of architecture. He divides his time between New York and Naugatuck. He is currently on the Society's Board of Directors. This program is FREE and open to the public.

White Memorial Foundation Yoga in the Garden

In the garden behind the White Memorial museum, we will practice gentle, Vinyasa yoga as we listen to the birds, feel the morning breezes, and celebrate the warmth of the summer sun. Class will be followed by a brief guided meditation for those who would like to participate. This is an all levels, all ages program and requires no prior yoga or meditation experience! Recent studies have shown the benefits of yoga, which include stress reduction, improvement in strength, flexibility, and balance.
