Quassy Amusement Park on September 3 and 4, 2016 will host the Irish Dance Competition.  This will be the 20th Annual Constitution State Feis (Irish Dance Competition) with hundreds of dancers from throughout New England competing.  The event will be held at the Carousel Theatre.  Presented by the Horgan Academy of Irish Dance.

5 p.m. In conjunction with the exhibit "Shedding Light on the Working Forest," Bill Torrey, logger and award winning storyteller, will perform "Forty Years and a Saw" at the Norfolk Library. Bill is a sixth generation Vermonter and logger. He will tell true to life stories about growing up in Vermont through the 60's, and of a logger working in the woods of Vermont for 40 years. In 2013 he retired from logging with almost all of his fingers and toes. Then he began working as a writer and storyteller. Flanders Nature Center Sept. Art Program

Wildlife artist Melody Asbury will be offering a four week class on painting animals at Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust in September. Students will have the opportunity to paint from photographs, an assortment of taxidermy animals and/or Flanders own livestock. All artistic levels are welcome and any medium can be used. The 4 class series will begin on Wednesday September 7 with classes also held on the following Wednesdays of September 14, 21 and 28. All classes will be held from 7 to 9 PM. The cost for the series is $100 for members or $150 for non-members.
