As a trainer, techniques to challenge students and their mounts. This an interactive program with lecture, actual course building, and demo rides.

Self-Guided Hike of Mine Hill Preserve--Roxbury

On Saturday, November 27, 2010 with Land Trust historian David Beglan from noon to 2PM will answer questions and pass out maps weather permitting--join members of the Roxbury Land Trust for a self-guiding hike of its Mine Hill Preserve.  The 360 acre nature preserve which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is the site of a 19th century iron-making complex and nearly four miles of hiking trails that offer glimpses of Roxbury's industrial heritage and natural beauty.  Hikers should allow at least two hours to complete the entire loop but much shorter walks are possible to see the roasting ovens and blast furnace, tunnel openings and mine shafts.  Sturdy shoes are recommended.

Simsbury Celebrates Rail Jam NOVEMBER 27, 2010 - From 4pm to 7:30pm come ski and snowboard on real snow with Ski Sundown and our friends at the International Skating Center of Connecticut at the Town of Simsburys.  Simsbury Celebrates festival, located on Rt. 10 (Hopmeadow Street) in downtown Simsbury, CT. Complete with a parade, comedians, and loads of activities, this Ski Sundown Rail Jam never disappoints.  More details to come soon! Check out and Ski Sundown will truck in snow from the I.S.C.C. in Simsbury.  Using a drop-in ramp and a selection of terrain features from the mountain, Ski Sundown will create a fully functional terrain park in the front yard of Bank of America on Hopmeadow Street.  Exact set-ups for rail jams are decided by the Terrain Features crew the day of the event to custom fit for talent and ability level of the participants.  Skiers and riders can sign up the day of the rail jam by finding a Ski Sundown Terrain Features employee on site.
