On Sunday, December 7, 2008 the unofficial beginning of the holiday season in Newtown-- this event is the major fundraiser for the Family Counseling Center. From 11 AM to 5PM there will be tours of Main Street homes decked out for the season by local decorators--a Festival of Trees raffle, a Gingerbread House contest,a Holiday Boutique, performances of the Nutcracker Suite ballet, a Victorian Tea Room, musical performances, and an original holiday play. Newtown Historical Society's Matthew Curtiss House/Museum will be open from Noon til 4PM. The house will be festively decorated by the New town Garden Club and Junior Docents of the Society.
