On Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2PM the Ansonia Nature Center will offer a Birding for Families program.  Meet the Nature Center's feathered ambassadors.  Learn how to use binoculars, then take them outside as we discover the wild, avain kind with Ranger Wendy.  The program is free.  Please call to register.  This is a Parents and Communities for Kids Program supported by the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. On Saturday, 1 - 4 p.m. Connecticut Landmarks' Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden will once again host a Children's Art Show as part of Caroline's Enchanted Garden: Fairy & Wizard Festival. The show will feature artistic entries of woodland nymphs, fairies and other magical creatures, and fairy houses created using natural materials and organic found objects such as pine cones, dried weeds and flowers, sticks, bark, stones, pods, seeds, feathers and wool. Certificates of participation will be awarded on the day of the festival, which will also include an enchanting afternoon of magic, crafts, story time, a scavenger hunt and pony rides by Joan Coogan's Pony Tales. Refreshments will be available for sale through the Soroptimists International of Greater Waterbury. To register for the Art Show, contact the Bellamy-Ferriday House.
