On Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hollister House Garden join horticultural enthusiasts and bon vivants to savor the magic of Twilight in the Garden in the cool of the evening from 6 to 8PM.  Rain date is Sunday, July 10th.  Hollister Houe Garden is one of only 16 exceptional gardens curently designated a Preservation Project by the Garden Conservancy whose mission is to identify and preserve important and historically significant gardens across America for the education and enjoyment of the public.  Twilight in the Garden party is priced at $20 per person/$35 per couple, or for members at $17/$30 per couple.  Reservations must be made in advance either on the Contact Us page of the website or call.

Annual Washington Green Summer Fair

On Sat. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. an Old Fashioned festival, held each summer on the green in front of the Fairs Congregational Church, off Rte. 47, (Green Hill Rd.) at the intersection of Kirby Rd. Offering plants, books and baked goods for sale, Giant Tag Sale. Fair-goers also will find a silent auction with more intriguing items starting at 12:30 p.m. Proceeds support preservation of the historic Meeting House and Town Green.  A quilt designed by the Meeting House Quilters will be raffled off at $5 per ticket to raise money for the upkeep of the House.
