This special Tribute Concert to our patroness, Ellen Battell Stoeckel, in honor of the 70th anniversary of her death, recognizes her lifelong passion for vocal music. Artist Talks starting at 2 p.m. by writer Fiona deMemerell and Artist-in-Residence at the Henderson cultural Center. Additional talks by Banjie Nicholas and Abby Reiser who are presently exhibiting in the Silo's Hay Barn Gallery through Sept. 6th. Nicholas will demonstrate one of her favorite mediums, silverpoint drawing, in which the drawn line is created with a thin silver wire held in a stylus. The Danbury Music Centre will host a Messiah Summer Sing on Tuesday, August 11th, 7:00 pm, at the in Danbury. The evening will be led by Richard Price, Music Director and Conductor of the Danbury Concert Chorus, and will be accompanied on the piano by Max Vladimiroff. This is the first time the Danbury Music Centre has presented a Summer Sing and all singers, including those with little or no experience, are welcome to attend. Students ages 16 years and older are also invited to participate. This is a unique opportunity to sing the choruses of Messiah just for the fun of doing it no pressure, no performance, no snow. The cost is $5 for Danbury Music Centre supporting members, and $10 for all others. The fee includes refreshments and the use of the music. Participants may pre-register by contacting the Danbury Music Centre There will also be registration at the door.
