St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Marble Dale, Ct., is planning a community Sing-Along and Ice Cream Social on Friday, August 5 at 7 p.m. Doreen Gray, Director of Music at St. Francis Church in New Milford, and Elaine Barksdale, Organist at St. Andrew's Church Marble Dale, have planned a program that will include everyone's favorites, new and old. Song sheets will be provided so everyone can join in. Guitar and banjo accompaniment will be provided by Doreen Gray and Lois Ciccarelli. An Ice Cream Social will follow the music program in the Church Fellowship Hall. St. Andrew's is on the corner of Wheaton Road and 247 New Milford Turnpike (Route 202) in the Marble Dale section of Washington

Weekend in Norfolk Hosts Events for Three Days

The cornucopia of events organized for August 5,6,and 7, 2016 provides a WINiing plan for family and multigenerational fun.  The schedule includes everything from art exhibits to nature walks, world-class musical concerts to scavenger hunts and ice cream socials.  Norfolk is home to the Yale Summer School of Music, the summer Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and Infinity Hall.  Kids will enjoy the boy scouts' camping demonstration, the girl scouts' watermelon-eating contest, and patting the goats at Lost Ruby Farm.  A three-day exhibition by Norfolk Artists and friends, an extensive painting and poetry exhibition.  You can make an appointment to get married or renew vows on the Viilage Green.  The town's first selectman will officiate.  Local gardeners will donate bouquets for each couple.  A Farmers Market on Saturday, an ice cream social on Sunday and special deals at the town's restaurants and cafes throughtout the weekend will be offered.
