The Naugatuck Historical Society is proud to be collborating with the Naugatuck Fire Department this October to provide a special exhibit and program for children, families and adults.  In October come to the museum to view rare artifacts from the archives of the Fire Department and the Naugatuck Historical Society.  On Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 6-8PM explore the exhibit and a special video production of the history of the department showcasing some of the rarely seen photos from the department's archives.  Members/Active Military $2. Litchfield Historical Society Offers Lunch and Learn Talks Re American Archives Month

First in a series of Lunch and Learn Talks sponsored by the Litchfield Historical Society to celebrate American Archives Month will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011--Archives in the Movies.  Leith Johnson, former project archivist at the Historical Society, will present a program of two dozen wide-ranging film clips that show how archivists, curators, and institutions that preserve the hsitorical recrod are portrayed--for better or worse--in movies.  Leith has carefully crafted his talk through nine years of presenting it annually at the Society of American Archivists meeting.  This program will take place in the Cunningham Gallery of the Litchfield History Museum from 12 Noon to 1PM.  There is no charge for attendance, but donations are always appreciated.  Call for further information and to register.

The Eagles Are Landing In Bethlehem

The Flight of the Eagles will land in Bethelehem or Columbus Day weekend. Exhibit will run Saturday, 10 -4 p.m,and Sunday 11 - 4 p.m. Ray White, well known local painter and sculptor has been working for more than a year on creating six new large scale eagle sculputer.  In addition, Ray's original inspiration for the exhibit, three of Bob Hubbard's eagle sculpures will also be featured.  The eagles in different patterns of flight will be featured outdoors outdoors at 550 Main Street South, Bethlehem.  Bring a picnic lunch and sit on the patio overlooking the ground.  For more informatiion call or email.
