Taking place in The Skitch Henderson Museum, A Christmas Concert in the Country with Alecia Evans, lyric coloratura soprano.   Alecia Adams Evans has performed regionally and nationally throughout the United States. Her second performance at the farm will be a rich presentation of joyful holiday music from a repertoire of traditional Christmas standards and carols. Adding a spark to some of these holiday tunes will be an "Andrew Sisters" style sound, featuring the musical trio, Nobody's Business which includes Evans, along with Cadden Jones and Linda Sue Moshier. Joining her on the museum's famous Steinway piano once housed at NBC's Tonight Show and signed by all four Steinway brothers, will be legendary Broadway Conductor Phil Hall. A reception will immediately follow the concert. The yearly gathering of Go Go FEAM (family + team) rippers and Ski Sundown riders have a new date.  EARLY season shred to get 2010 wrapped up and the fun going for 2011.  Past events include the Laugh Pipe, Freedom Carve Contest, Go Go Limbo, 30 Meter Tic Tac Dash and others.  The Ski Sundown park crew works closely with the Go Go's to develop unique and interesting features that everyone will enjoy.  This one's all about having fun with a million shredders!  Participants can sign up in the lodge at the designated Go Go table.  Email for details. New Year's Eve Party at Torrington Armory

The Torrington Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Annual Last Night New Years Eve Celebration at the Torrington Armonry from 4 to 7PM Friday, December 31, 2010.  The family friendly event will feature food, performers and activities, including the Forbes Flyers, McArdles Irish Dancers, Miss Litchfield County and Miss Teen Litchfield contestants, the Magic of Peter James, Matica, Tom Stankus and DJ Patty Marcantonio.  Activities will include hat making , face painters, juggling, coloring, clowns and inflatables.  There will also be trolly rides outside the Armory.  Admission is $5 per family.  In the event of incliment weather tune into WZBG radio station for information.
