Kent Art Association--Benefit Juried Auction--Children's Cancer Fund

On Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Lounsbury House in Ridgefield, CT a joint benefit juried auction with the Children's Cancer Fund will be sponsored by the Kent Art Association. Members only will be eligible to participate. Entry fee of $15. Each artist can submit up to three works for the auction. Minimum bid will be $200. The artist will receive 50% of the sales price and a percentage to the Children's Cancer Fund which is a non-profit organization that fosters research in childhood cancer and provides patient services for children and their families. Covered Bridge Canoe and Kayak Race--West Cornwall

On Sunday, May 16, 2010 beginning at 9AM the Housatonic Area Canoe and Squad Race will be hosting its annual canoe and kayak slalom race on the Housatonic River. Clarke Outdoors is coordinating the event. The race will begin at 9AM and will run until about 3PM. Racers will negotiate their boats through a series of colorful slalom gates hung above the river. Scores are based on time and penalities for touching gates. Great spectating. Call for further information.
